Food
We have great food supplies from emergency management and kind donations at the free supermarket at the Surf Club.
10 am to 12 pm and 5 pm to 7 pm Monday, Tuesday. Stay tuned for hours.
Access
There are known active slips in the Piha area, please follow instructions from authorities and do not attempt to go into a cordoned area where access is prohibited. Carrying photo ID, proof of residence (like a utility bill) or letting the police know that your car is registered to a Piha address (which they can verify on their system) can make it quicker to move through controlled-access cordons.
Rayner Rd, Piha
Vehicles are currently restricted from using the road therefore all access on Rayner Road remains foot traffic only (except in emergencies).
Adjacent to 45 Rayner Road there is road subsidence and the designated walking pathway through this area can only be used during daylight hours and MUST NOT be used during and immediately after heavy rain.
During these times, an alternative route is available by following the signs up the driveway of 60 Rayner Road. This will allow 12 houses with red placards to be changed to ‘white’ and residents will be able to return to these homes.
Water Update
Water is available for collection in two locations, a tanker parked at North Piha, near the United North Piha Lifeguard Service, and a welfare bollard (a blue post with two hoses attached to it) at the entrance to the Piha Domain, opposite 20 Seaview Road.
People need to bring their own containers and can collect up to 20L per person per day.
Work is progressing on trying to get the private water treatment plant in North Piha Road operational again. This is a separate source of water from the Seaview Road Supply and only serves the North Piha Road area.
Septic Tank Update
Septic tank pump-out services are being arranged, with planning and coordination underway to identify and prioritise affected properties needing the service. Hydrotech is the service provided by Auckland Council to do this. If you are interested in having your septic tank pumped out, please register here
